In 2007, SPX Filtran entered the filtration market for Heavy Duty Truck applications with the introduction of DoubleDuty® diesel engine oil filters.  This unique, patented filtration technology developed by SPX Filtran engineers, replaces conventional OE design diesel engine oil filters and extends oil service intervals two (2) to five (5) times normal rates.

DoubleDuty® oil filters provide two levels of filtration providing a significantly cleaner lube system oil and removing contaminants over twenty (20) microns during full flow filtration.  Sub-micron particles, such as soot, are removed using integral bypass filtration. The complete filtration system is contained within the same size package as an OE design filter and uses the identical engine mounting. A single SAE-4 hose and fitting added to the existing engine port allows the super-clean oil processed to return directly to the engine – no remote mount bypass filter system is required.

DoubleDuty® lube oil filters exceed all engine manufacturer specifications and will not void the warranty. This technology improves lube oil filtration under harsh and demanding service conditions such as EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) systems that usually increase the level of soot contaminant in diesel engine oil.

SPX Filtran provides full service support for DoubleDuty® lube oil filtration products, offering technical support, field study testing and installation assistance. In addition, SPX Filtran offers OilTracker™, a full oil analysis and particle counting service for a complete preventive maintenance package.
